For the first weekend, while the girls were away down South, Kevin brought his family to Mandurah for some award-winning pies, estuary views, and thrombolites! Meanwhile, Agnes, stayed at home to rest after all the exertions and late nights with her friends. :)

Visitors Spree Part 3
Even while our second set of visitors were still around, we were already welcoming our third group, Kevin's family! So it was more travelling to and from the airport to pick up and drop off people. It was great to have Preeta and Helena wake up at the wee hours of the morning to join us in picking up Kevin's parents, brother, and his girlfriend Janet from the airport. Kevin's brother, Wilson, and Janet also helped us to send the girls to the airport a couple of days later at 4 am in the morning!

Love in a Skechers Shape-ups Box
There's no more room in our small cupboard to keep all our clothes... especially after Agnes' sister sent more clothes in a shoe box. Some of them are piled up on a chair, waiting for clothes that she no longer can fit in to go into the luggage bag, to make way for them.
With the warmer weather, Agnes can finally wear clothes that will not be hidden under jumpers and sweaters. In fact, her friends made her pose with some of her new happening clothes... ;)

Knit-y and Bab-y
Agnes promised Preeta, Farrah, Helena and Sylvia that she would knit them each a beanie to be collected here in Perth... which she did. :)
Started the first one in July...

...and finished the last one in front of Sylvia. (Syl, it's by no means a rush job. It's done with "professionalism" to "perfection" ie the best I know how to. ;D)
Ta-da!
On the other hand, they agreed to help bring over the hand-me-downs from her sister, Stacey (special thanks to Boon Han who got them to KL from Singapore and Farrah who collected from him). It was a whole cargo bag stuffed with little rompers, mittens, socks, bibs, pants, hats, more socks and a comfy blanket. Mind you, these are only newborn to 6 month sizes so there is much more to be handed down. Yay! ;D
Thoughtfully, Joanne sent along beautifully embroidered rompers and Yuet Pei a 4-step musical stimulation for babies - she has got us all covered from Pre-natal to active stimulation for 1 year and up!
However, the girls did not stop there. They also bought us a whole lot of fun and lovely rompers, bibs, socks, a cool shorts and a cardigan, and Agnes' favourite - a giraffe skirt and slippers! With these gifts and more that they bought earlier in the day, the party (also known as the Baby Shower) was ready to begin. It was so much fun it did not matter that it was about 1.30 in the morning and that they had a flight to catch in a few hours time! ;) Kevin, who was still awake working on his research, was called upon in the midst of it all for a short photo session, before returning to his work.
For Agnes, this visit brought back lots of wonderful memories from university days (more than 10 years ago :O)... staying up late, lots of yakking, doing crazy things together...
... even if it meant cooking (and enjoying) another round of chicken varuval in the middle of the night! Thank you for the wonderful time, dear friends!

Visitors Spree Part 2
Parts 2 and 3 were pretty much back to back. A lot was happening which was totally exhausting but we loved every moment of it and had to get used to a quieter house after everyone had left! Unfortunately, just when we finally wanted to get back to the blogging routine, Kevin fell sick and all we wanted to do was to take the opportunity to rest and recuperate. No doubt the next phase of our lives is going to be much more demanding in every way. Til then, here's an account of a visit planned about a year ago.
Day 1. Preeta, Farrah and Helena arrived. After some girl-y chats and a snooze, Kevin dropped Agnes and the girls at Harbourtown for lunch and some shopping and we then had dinner at Spaghi. Back at home, we got ready to cook supper - Preeta's mum's world-famous chicken varuval! It was really really yummy...
Day 2. Agnes and the girls spent the morning preparing for a picnic at Kings Park... and had a lovely time. Kevin let them take the car and decided to work from home.
Day 3. While Kevin was in uni, Agnes and the girls drove to the Caversham Wildlife Park with the rented car - the highlight being feeding the kangaroos and touching the koalas!
... with her joey in the pouch!
Sylvia finally arrived late in the afternoon and we went to Sir James Mitchell Park for the must-have Aussie experience... barbeque (in the cold winter night! The Aussies prefer theirs on a warm afternoon though). ;)
Day 4 & 5. The girls went on a road trip to the Margaret River region and came back with some exciting stories...
Day 6. We made a trip to Fremantle and Preeta finally got to go to the markets!
From Fremantle, we went to Thilak and Anu's. Preeta, Farrah, Helena and Agnes were colleagues with Thilak in their first job so they have been friends for a long time. It was indeed a good catch up and we really enjoyed their warm hospitality.
Day 7. Final bits of shopping and hanging out together. The girls also had to pick up some "essentials" for the party they were planning for... more on that up next... ;p

Visitors Spree Part 1
The visitors spree has begun! It began with the arrival of Julia (more than 2 weeks back now!), with a bag of goodies from Agnes' sister filling the whole of her cargo bag. ;D
We caught up over a scrumptious lunch at the Secret Garden Cafe, while hanging out at our new place and also a short stroll on the overhead bridge to the Como Beach.
So much to say...
So little time...
So long, Julia... come back soon!

Counting our blessings: The move Part 4
Another extremely late post - we've been sooooo busy with all the moving, unpacking and hosting friends and family, and Kevin with his work as well.
Just wanna say how blessed we were through this whole process of moving. First of all, we're very thankful for Cindy, Toby and Richard for helping us move. To add to that, our moving day happened to coincide with the Sunday before verge collection in Como. As we were moving our stuff from the truck into the new place, our neighbours were throwing some good stuff out of their house, which we happily picked up and brought into our house with the help of Toby and Richard. We took a single devan bed and mattress, a large extendable dining table, 4 chairs, a basket, and a bookshelf - exactly what we needed to host friends and family who were coming! We were tempted to bring in the larger TV as well, but didn't in the end. :)
We went for a nice dinner at a Thai restaurant and then it was back to the house for unpacking... which pretty much lasted for the rest of the week.
We have also since been blessed with a vacuum cleaner and a washing machine thanks to Denny and Sheela!
