Jacynth in Ipoh

Played the piano for the first time, with Ah Koo...

Played with kung kung's CD cover?

Played with Poh Poh's basins and buckets...

...but that's okay because "What Happens at Grandma's House Stays at Grandma's House"!

Played with the phone and things around it...

Watched her kids' music video on a big screen...

Dressed like a bee for kiwi fruit...

Played with cousin Josiah...

...at Ee Poh Chor (great grandaunty)'s house.

Ate at the hawker stall...

Ate in a chinese restaurant...

Ate dim sum...

Then hung out with kung kung before we left for Penang...

The wedding

We were back in Malaysia primarily to attend Kevin's brother's wedding but took the opportunity to...

- meet some old friends

who kindly ta pau-ed lots of yummy food that we have missed

who were willing to let us name any place & time so that they could come and meet us on our terms!

- attend I-Ian and Joanne's wedding

but ended up mostly running after Jacynth...

so finally gave up and took out the video player...

- meet the gorgeous baby Caylee

whom Jacynth adored!

As for THE wedding, Jacynth had a great time running around and eating at the dinner in KL...

but was so sick when we were in Penang...

... that she slept through both the church ceremony...

and the wedding dinner! We didn't even have a photo of her in that beautiful dress she was wearing... ;(

Homeward Bound?

It has been exactly a month since we finished our tried-to-do-a-lot-of-things-meet-a-lot-of-people-eat-a-lot-of-food-jacynth-fell-so-sick trip. Of course while we were travelling, we hardly had the time to blog, and you can say that it has taken us a month to recover from the trip. We will play catch up from here, so, let's see how it goes.

While Agnes and Jacynth extended the stay to spend some time in Singapore, Kevin was back in Perth earlier...

... so Agnes flew back with Jacynth on her own. They slept, watched her kids' music videos, ate, pressed the buttons on the video player, watched the sun set, talked on the phone ("Huh, what? You must be kidding me!"), read the safety information (and Jacynth tried to escape) and explored with the tray/ table.

At last, Agnes and Jacynth arrived home (home is where all the things you need everyday are?) to be greeted by Kevin, a tidy and neat house as well as a Christmas tree and some lights! :D

We are glad to be home and together again!

Homeward Bound

The blog has been quiet as we prepared for the trip home and the whirlwind has continued from the moment we touched down. Before we get to that, this is how we survived flying with a toddler!

It was nine months ago when we made our first trip home with the then 3 month old Jacynth. We knew it would be more challenging to keep her entertained this time round. Also, since we had to leave for the airport at 4.15am, we wanted to have her continue sleeping so Agnes strapped her in the sling before we hopped into the taxi where she was in between wakefulness and sleep. However, she went back to sleep while we were queueing up to get our baggages checked in. Phew! Then, she woke up as the announcement to board came through the loud-speakers, on time to wave at the crew who took our boarding passes. :)

Up on the plane, we gave her the pacifier to suck to ease the pressure during taking off. She played with it instead but was not upset by any pain...

and not long later, Jacynth slept off again for another 1.5hours! :D

When she woke, we tried to keep to our daily routine as much as possible. So, after her feed, we cleaned up. She didn't like the change table though...

... and tried to escape from the small cubicle which was the toilet.

The plane was not full and the seat next to us was empty so Jacynth did a bit of exploring around...

peeped and waved (numerous times!) at the lady behind our seats...

played with her (bath) toy...

snacked...

drank...

And when we were too tired, the video player came out and she watched her favourite singing videos while Agnes managed to catch a few winks.

We landed not long after and she had her lunch at the airport, while being strapped to the sling.

Finally, more explorations in Kevin's dad's car with the new found freedom (without the child safety seat)!

Jacynth's First Birthday

Two weeks ago, we had a simple celebration of Jacynth's first birthday at Playgroup (previously the New Mum's Group)...

where Agnes baked a smaller cake...

with her little friends...

We even pulled through with the "Silly Billy" (better known as 'Passing the Parcel") game! ;)
