The blog has been quiet as we prepared for the trip home and the whirlwind has continued from the moment we touched down. Before we get to that, this is how we survived flying with a toddler!
It was nine months ago when we made our
first trip home with the then 3 month old Jacynth. We knew it would be more challenging to keep her entertained this time round. Also, since we had to leave for the airport at 4.15am, we wanted to have her continue sleeping so Agnes strapped her in the sling before we hopped into the taxi where she was in between wakefulness and sleep. However, she went back to sleep while we were queueing up to get our baggages checked in. Phew! Then, she woke up as the announcement to board came through the loud-speakers, on time to wave at the crew who took our boarding passes. :)
Up on the plane, we gave her the pacifier to suck to ease the pressure during taking off. She played with it instead but was not upset by any pain...
and not long later, Jacynth slept off again for another 1.5hours! :D
When she woke, we tried to keep to our daily routine as much as possible. So, after her feed, we cleaned up. She didn't like the change table though...
... and tried to escape from the small cubicle which was the toilet.
The plane was not full and the seat next to us was empty so Jacynth did a bit of exploring around...
peeped and waved (numerous times!) at the lady behind our seats...
played with her (bath) toy...
snacked...
drank...
And when we were too tired, the video player came out and she watched her favourite singing videos while Agnes managed to catch a few winks.
We landed not long after and she had her lunch at the airport, while being strapped to the sling.
Finally, more explorations in Kevin's dad's car with the new found freedom (without the child safety seat)!
