Nevertheless, if you ask Jacynth, she'll probably say, "I look like ME!" :)

Who does she resemble?
Some of you have been wondering about this. Well, check out our baby photos and decide for yourselves! ;)

First flight
After the initial panic and shock when we found out that the Malaysian High Commission in Canberra had halted the processing of passport applications until January this year, we have since gotten Jacynth an Emergency Certificate which will allow her to make a one-way trip back to Malaysia. We will then have to apply for her passport in Malaysia...
We also have her flight tickets now! When we first bought our promo tickets to go back for Chinese New Year with Malaysia Airlines, Jacynth was nameless and date of birth-less so we were not able to get her tickets. Now it's for sure, we are so coming back! Since this is her first time in an airplane, (nope, Agnes flying when she was pregnant does not count!) we are not sure how she is going to take it. We are not even sure if we can handle her so, wish us the best! :)

Knitting again
On our last Knit-y post, we wondered if Agnes would still have time to knit after the arrival. The answer is yes, 2 months after! The motivation was to fix a silly mistake. She had sent the pinwheel sweater that she knitted into the washing machine to wash with Jacynth's other clothes. Warm wash. Cold rinse. Perfect formula... for felting! Now that she has unraveled that one damaged sleeve, it's time to start knitting it back, well, when she can locate her 5.5mm needles!
Meanwhile, she knitted a bunny baby cap meant for a yet-to-be-born baby but ended up donating that to Nuffnang for the Queensland Flood Appeal Auction. She'll whip up another one though. It's easier and more fun now that we have a live model to try the hats on as she knits.
By the way, the nativity scene knits from two Christmases ago has been on top of our book shelf and is still not complete. Will the wise men ever carry any gifts and will there be any sheep?
Right now, she's off to finish another cap and an iphone cover that should have been done umpteen years ago! :)

Winter in the midst of the Summer
Kevin's colleagues Claire and Aidan are leaving Curtin and Perth so there was a small gathering at South Beach, Fremantle. As soon as we arrived, we realized how cold and how strong the winds were so we quickly wrapped Jacynth up.
A picture with Claire... while Aidan was bringing Lucy (their pet dog) to another section of the beach after being told by an officer that this was a no pets zone...
The weather was quite a reprieve, given that it's been pretty warm lately... or more like VERY hot! On these warm days, after Jacynth's evening bath, we often leave the pyjamas' buttons undone so she'd be in her diapers until it cools down later in the evening! :)

Salad Addiction
Drawing inspiration from Judy's vegetarian cooking, Kevin is now addicted to trying out his own salad recipes! As a consequence, we actually had salad for 3 consecutive days... and definitely more to come.
While most people would think this is healthy, it is unfortunate that our salads contain quite a lot of olive oil and feta cheese/ bocconcini... oh well, a salad has to taste good too! ;)

Jacynth's Favourite Pastime...
Other than sleeping, feeding, peeing, pooing and crying, Jacynth has added reading to her list of favourite pastimes. Being a busy infant with not much time to spare, she still manages to take a break from her hectic schedule in order to grow her fertile mind.
Not content with her own limited collection, she has gone on to read some of her daddy's books!
A future scientist in the making perhaps? ;)
She now has a her own collection of books:
1. "Bear & Chook by the sea" (gift from Judy & Perry)
2. "Imagine a Place" (gift from Cindy)
3. "Mother Goose" (gift from her 'kong kong')
4. "The Three bears" (gift from her 'kong kong')
5. "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" (gift from her 'kong kong')
6. "Pilgrim" (gift from her mom and dad)
Not content with her own limited collection, she has gone on to read some of her daddy's books!
And even Perry's books! It's so tiring on her mind that she often falls asleep in the process...
A future scientist in the making perhaps? ;)

First movie
When they first entered the cinema, Jacynth was asleep in the stroller but soon awoke to the loud sounds. Agnes picked her up and Jacynth looked curiously around her. Then, the show began...
Not long after, Agnes smelled it. Jacynth poo-ed! Since Agnes was not about to miss any part of the show that she paid $23.50 for, she changed Jacynth's diaper on the stroller. And all was good... but not for long. Jacynth became restless. So, it's time to feed but it was one of those cranky feed times. Agnes quickly left her seat to another one near an exit, stood up once in a while for a more comfortable feed and soon Jacynth got "drunk" from the feed. Agnes returned to her seat and enjoyed the rest of the show with Jacynth in her arms. Ok-la! ;)
Perhaps we can do this again... this time we need to bring Kevin along because according to him, his baby "doesn't poo" and "is never cranky". But wait, it only means that if Jacynth poos and is cranky, Agnes is supposed to take over. Hmmm... Oh well, movie tickets are too expensive for us to go often anyway!
Agnes enjoyed the show a lot so it's really worth the money. If it's still on screen in KL in a few weeks, we can watch it one more time! :D

In the Garden...
Some of you may remember the little gardening attempt at our old place. All the plants eventually whittered in the heat of the summer. To be honest, the tomato plant survived without water for 3 weeks when we were back in Malaysia but it was so hot on the summer days that Agnes did not want to go outside to water it. ;p
Agnes' dad spent a lot of time gardening when he was here. After a lot of effort, we now have a garden blooming with vegetables and flowers.

We even had a chance to taste the lettuce (before they succumbed to the burning sun) - here's Agnes' dad harvesting them early in the morning before we left for Albany.
Now that Agnes' parents had left, we have inherited the garden...
Jacynth admiring the flowers...
There are actually 4 tomatoes now. Oh, what joy! But they are about to be left without water for 3 weeks again! We wonder how much of the garden will survive. ;(

Our Third Honeymoon
Oh wait, there isn't one. ;) In fact, Jacynth was at her crankiest of moods today.
On a usual morning, she will wake up in a jovial mood (although it can be a bit too early for us sometimes...). Half asleep, we will try our best to play and "chat" with her.
She also enjoys playing with the Sensory Glow-worm toy that Hayley and Cormac, Kevin's colleagues, bought for her. Its face lights up and it plays music when you press a button...
We get most of the daily supply of smiles then. It is so blissful. :)
Since then though, she's been crying a lot and kept wanting to be carried or rocked. Well, at least she finally settled down and slept off just before dinner so that we could enjoy a peaceful meal.... That's our girl! :D
