Every year on 25 April, Australians get together to observe ANZAC Day. This year is the third time we have been around when the event takes place but we have never been to any of them. Since this will probably be our last chance to do so, Agnes decided that she had to be a part of it at least once.
The day was (as always) commemorated with the Dawn Service, a parade and a more formal ANZAC Day Ceremony. Kevin decided to give it a miss and spent his public holiday writing his thesis in the office while Agnes took the bus to the city with Jacynth where all the action was. They arrived during the second half of the parade and had fun watching from the curb of the road, as Jacynth ate her ANZAC Day biscuit and danced to the marching bands...
Waving the Australian flag around...
They were right behind the Guards of Honour (who were between them and the main stage) during the Ceremony, where Agnes made an extra effort not to let Jacynth escape past the cordon of Australian flags...
And so, ANZAC Day - checked. :)
like how you always manage to take a photo of Jacynth with the action in the background! can imagine you placing her in a certain position, running back, calling out to her, and taking the photo! LOL
ReplyDeleteyah lots of work, thank God for digital cameras.. just keep snapping! but for these, we were basically at the thick of the action so it was easy. that's why she's so close to the camera... :)
ReplyDeletebtw, another good tip is to have the camera in hand all the time.. and catch the action when it happens.. they are not so cooperative to do it again for you if you miss it! ;)
