First twelve days with Jaydon

In the first twelve days since Jaydon arrived, we have been blessed with gifts,

(even Jacynth got some too!)

and visitors... (some of whom we've got no photos of because we were too busy chatting!)

(for Jacynth again! - drawer storage set)

Tummy time...

maybe not...

Daddy's time...

Family time...

As usual, Jacynth wants to be around and about her little brother

So, Jaydon was twelve days old yesterday. What does that mean?

Yummy pork trotters in black vinegar. That's the tradition! :)

The Arrival...

Even as Kevin left home on a windy and cloudy morning to submit his thesis, our baby boy began signalling that he was about to arrive...

... and so began baby's loooooooooooooooooong, yes very looooooooooooonnnngggg journey to the outside world... For those of you screaming for photos on facebook, here they are... we present to you.... (drumroll):
 Koay Jaydon

at 48 cm long, and weighing 2.955 kg

Within 24 hours of his arrival, it was time for both mom and bub to go home...

His big sister absolutely adores him...

While Kevin is in uni, as he begins his short stint as casual Research Assistant, Poh Poh does most of the cooking, bathing and washing...

while Kung Kung entertains Jacynth by bringing her out for walks, showing her nursery rhymes etc...

Next up, we'll be looking forward to the arrival of Yeh Yeh and Ah Ma in a month's time!

Christmas!

It was Christmas in July again. Jacynth carried the present for gift exchange by herself...

And when it was time to exchange gifts...,

she opened her gift all by herself as well!

Mummy 'only' had to pick up and bin the wrapping papers... ;)

Swamped #2

Next to arrive were Agnes' sister's family of four and a few hours later, her parents with her brother, Fred. By then, we had luggages, clothes and chaos in the house.

It's quite impossible to have a decent picture of the ten of us! To be honest, there are a number in Fred's camera. ;)

We went on  the northernmost and longest road trip we'd ever been in WA. We had driven close to 2,000 km by the end of the 5-day trip! Kevin and Fred were the dedicated drivers while the rest of us made ourselves useful in and around the 12-seater van.

at the Pinnacles... again, for some of us....

first night in Geraldton...

at Hamelin bay to say hi to the Stromatolites...

at Shell Beach...

where the flies reigned...

Jacynth busy playing with all the shells...

at Eagle Bluff in Shark Bay Marine Park (part of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area)...

Our ultimate destination was Denham. On our arrival, we were greeted  by emus on the street...

and a beautiful accommodation equipped with indoor and outdoor toys for the kids, where we stayed for 2 nights...

Wild dolphins visit the shores of Monkey Mia every day throughout the year...

... and they come again and again! :)

While waiting for the cruise on Aristocat 2, we chilled out with the pelicans...

and played at the beach.

Strong men helping the Aristocat 2 set sail...

Off we went!

First stop at the Blue Lagoon,

a pearl farm ...

exploring the indoor lounge of the Aristocat 2...

testing out the boom netting...

The crew on Aristocat 2 were very committed (spot one of them up on the sail!) and we were thrilled to meet some marine animals while on board. We saw a turtle, a tiger shark and after a long search, the endangered dugong.

We saw more dolphins and here's one riding on the wave of the yacht!

By the end of the cruise, Jacynth was more than ready for her nap...

Fred's graduation photo-shooting at Little Lagoon! :)

at Ocean Park...

our final night at Kalbarri...

sunset at Red Bluff...

at Eagle Gorge... before the long drive home to Perth...
