Eating and Eating and Eating...

Kevin has been doing most of the cooking lately, partly because Agnes has been caught up with the task of running after the very mobile Jacynth and partly because he's been inspired by Masterchef Australia! :)

As for Jacynth, she is much more of a solid food eater now since the initial food tasting days. It's so rewarding when she opens her mouth widely when you offer her the spoon.

Of course, it can be very frustrating on some days when she just wants to make funny faces, blow bubbles (spitting porridge all over the place in the process) and refuses to eat.

"Eating" an apple

Having a taste of durian ice-cream at Ipoh Garden Restaurant where we had dinner with Kevin's friend, Jason who came to visit from Melbourne. ;p

She loves feeding herself and enjoys a variety of food. Afterall, she prefers to eat what we eat rather than her own porridge! Here's Jacynth gnawing on a celery...

...carrot...

and brocolli.

Grimacing at the sour taste of an orange but she kept coming back for more!

Watch Jacynth grow #4

Jacynth is 7 months old! :O

When she was almost 6 months, she tried getting up on her knees all the time.

The next thing we knew, she was doing some sort of crawling and sitting slanted.

the hand got caught under her belly while trying to crawl...

By 6 and a half months, she was sitting up on her own and not long later, doing proper crawling.

If we let her, she'd be under the dining table in no time and in the next moment, somewhere else!

One thing led to another very quickly. She'd try to push herself up on the sofa and her cot to get to a standing position.

Now that she can do it, she's done that for practically everything she can push herself up on!

Out and about!

After the weekend at the farm house, Kevin was back in uni while Agnes spent more time with her sister and family.

They took the bus to the city. It was quite a mammoth task with a baby, a toddler, a stroller (which had to be folded up to be carried up the bus as the buses on the route do not have ramps), and all the shopping stuff. But it was fun!

waiting for the bus to the city...

waiting for the bus to go home...

in the bus... Agnes was in charge of the kids,

her sister, Stacey, was in charge of the stroller while her brother in law, Allan, all the things we bought! :)

They spent time lazing around at home and having a picnic out at the park.

Jacynth couldn't stop touching the screen so her cousin, Kate had to hold her hand... ;)

and she climbed all over her afterwards...

walking to the park...

Allan was the muscle man again...! :D

On their final day here, they spent time at the playground at Sir James Mitchell Park, catching up with Karen and her children. Kevin joined us for dim sum lunch and then it was back to the house for packing up. Time flies when you are having a good time!

Jacynth clearly prefers the porridge her mummy cooks! ;p

Jacynth looking cute in her new haircut. Stacey cut it while Agnes held her very very tightly...
