Let's Go to the Zoo, There are Lots of Things to Do!

As Kevin had a 3-day conference at the Perth Zoo, we thought it'd be a good opportunity for Agnes and Jacynth to tag along so that Jacynth could be introduced to the wonders of the zoo! Kevin was able to accompany them for a while before heading off to the zoo's conference room...

Jacynth immediately got down into the dirt to have some fun!

Although she did look at the animals occasionally, she was much more interested in watching other children, walking and moving around...

Chomping on her corn thins as the Perentie looks on...

The strategy was to get Jacynth to tire herself out so she could sleep better...

but it came with a cost... very filthy clothes afterwards! (Whose idea was it to let her wear white?!) 

Anyway, mission accomplished!

And even the otters were impressed... ;)

As the first day of the conference came to an end, it was time to say good-bye to the zoo... for now...

No More Mittens... Ever!

Our attempt to put mittens on Jacynth after a long long time provided us with a temporary source of entertainment...

But she soon got frustrated and only wanted to get them off... 

At the Mamak (or Father's Day part 2)

To celebrate Father's Day, we had dinner at Fast Eddy's restaurant, or what we call Perth's mamak, as it's one of the only few places that are open 24 hours a day! We finally made it there after talking about it for a long long time...

As we ate...

Jacynth tried to escape from the high chair,

played with some fries,

and had her first taste of chocolate milk shake!

Father's Day

Last Sunday was Father's Day, in Australia at least... and on Saturday, Agnes' mum's group organized a Father's Day get together at the Windsor Hotel. Jacynth, as usual was excited to be going out again...

 Excited about this new space, she went about exploring every nook and cranny...

Then it was time for her nap... as we all enjoyed our conversations over some beer and pizzas...

Jacynth loves playing with things that are NOT her toys. Ah, the innocence and 'appreciative'ness of children. So, who needs expensive toys?

Finally, a few toys hidden inside an empty diaper box under the study table always brightens up her day! :)

Jacynth's First Visit to Manning Library

The Manning Library is just a stone's throw away from where we live. Since we just started Jacynth on a one nap per day routine, Agnes thought it would be a good idea to go to the library for rhyme-time to keep her occupied. They also stayed on afterwards and by noon, they had the whole children's section to themselves. ;)

These blocks were a great source of entertainment!

She's not afraid of puppets... in fact, she was going to kiss this one! :D

Lots of space to practice her walking...

Books are still her all-time favourite! :)
