Despite the warmth and the flies, we actually did quite a lot. It began with an unplanned stop when we saw a 'Strawberry Tasting' signboard.
Then, we went for a stroll at Yanchep National Park.
The next destination was the town of Lancelin but on the way, we stopped by Guilderton for some scenery. Here, you can see the river joining to the sea, creating an interesting contrast in the colour.
In Lancelin, we had lunch in the midst of the most annoying of flies. So, we gobbled down our food and moved on to the next stop. We went to the jetty and were greeted by the gorgeous turqoise sea. Lancelin is popular for water sports but of course, we only wanted to snap some photographs and get back into the car as quickly as possible!
One the way out of Lancelin, we stopped by the sand dunes, hoping to catch one or two sand boarders in action. Alas, all we got were more flies. If you click to enlarge the next photograph, you might be able to see the ones on Agnes' face!
Our final stop of the day was New Norcia, the only monastic town in Australia. We bought a loaf of fruit bread for $7.90, baked in the 100 year old wood-fired oven of the town's popular bakery.
Aiyo...can see Kevin's big belly. Heheh!
