Our Waking Life...: Laid-back weekend

After a stressful few weeks of working through late nights and weekends, Kevin finally had a weekend of rest. So we decided to enjoy a laid-back weekend together.

There's this restaurant that we'd been wanting to try, which was closed the first time we went. We decided to try again, and it was open! Guess the name of the restaurant... :)

But instead of ordering their signature Ipoh Kai See Hor Fun, Agnes wanted to try their Wa Tan Hor. Kevin also saw someone else eating mamak mee goreng and he wanted to try that... so we ended up with those two dishes!

Not bad actually... probably as authentic as you can get here in Perth! It's slightly more than 10 dollars (RM30!) per dish here, which is quite ok.

Their chrysanthemum leong sui was the best we'd ever tasted since we arrived! Ehhh... in fact it was the first as well... ;p

We'll definitely be back to sample their Ipoh Hor Fun and nasi Lemak!

We were resting at home after lunch, when we decided we should maybe go and catch the Alice in Wonderland movie. Since it costs more to go to those newer cineplexes (about 15 dollars per person), we thought we'd try one of the old school cinemas (12 dollars per person), of which one of them was just a 5 minute drive from our place. We went there about 20 minutes before the show began, wondering if there would still be good seats... only to find out that it was free seating! And most of the people were still hanging around outside the cinema, so we bought the tickets and went in immediately to choose our seats. Finally, our first time at the movies in Perth!
