Watch Jacynth Grow #11

Weight: 11 kgs
Length: 82.5 cm

Our 21 month old thinks she is a big big girl...

She loves putting on shoes on her own and running around the house with them.

She's also been trying to put on socks...

and cheekily pretending that she can!

She's on toilet training (sometimes)... it's just more difficult/ work in the cold weather with more layers of clothes, not catching a cold and washing & drying soiled clothes on time.

Watching something really interesting on TV...

Cleaning her runny nose...

Picking up the mess she made after a meal...

Getting hold of the little broom when we left the cupboard opened and imitating what she has seen us doing...

Sitting down nicely at the table for a big breakfast with us...

Eating her yoghurt with no mess at all - not even on the bib... we reckon she likes it so much she won't let even a tiny bit go to waste!

Well, she is going to be a big sister soon afterall... ;)

Swamped #5

(Aunty) Yuet Pei and (Uncle) Sam talked about coming to visit even before baby Caylee was even made! ;) They finally made it and have kindly bought tickets to come while Kevin was away in Sydney for a conference so that Agnes and Jacynth would have company at home. In a way, their visit was the reason Kevin had the peace of mind to sign up for the conference and go.

Barbeque at Woodman Point Regional Park with Yuet Pei's hometown friend, Shin, his wife, Ann and daughter, Chloe.

Jacynth can't believe Caylee can fall asleep so easily... ;)

Hanging out is never the same now...

"We'll be best friends like our mummies, okay?"

Jacynth imitating baby Caylee...

A cuppa at La Galette de France patisserie...

A cuppa at Elixir, apparently serving the best coffee in Perth!

Jacynth and Caylee spent their last moments together in Perth sleeping side by side during the journey to the airport.

Although it did not seem like it, they did travel around Perth and Fremantle, on their own mostly. So, it's not just about keeping Agnes and Jacynth company in the house! :D

In the meantime, Kevin was busy getting a taste of Sydney's public transportation...

enjoying himself at a retreat up in the blue mountains...

spending some quiet time in his little room for 7 days...

interrupted by announcements of important scientific discoveries....

having a dinner cruise around the harbour...

walking along the beaches in Sydney's Eastern suburbs...

chatting with Agnes and Jacynth over Skype....

and of course, listening to talks at the Astronomical Society of Australia annual science meeting.

Swamped #4

Agnes' parents visit was for a month so when everyone had left, they were still around to entertain Jacynth... ;)

fooling around with poh poh

dancing with kung kung

learning how to make egg noodles (pan mee)

On one of the weekends, we were at Swan Valley for some wine and beer tasting...

cockatoos at the winery...

view of the city from Perth Hills...

singing 'The More We Get Together' on the way home...

During another weekend, we went down south and stayed a night in Pemberton...

Riding on the Pemberton steam train

stopping by a waterfall...

climbing 62 metres up the gloucester tree?

Real fire place in our cottage at the Lavendar and Berry Farm. Poor Jacynth was not feeling very well and slept more than usual...

On the way home, we had to drive past lots of fallen trees and experienced some scary strong winds - thank God for a safe journey...

We took the opportunity to catch a movie, just the two of us... :)

We celebrated Fathers' Day...

... where Jacynth enjoyed her big piece of pork rib.

When they left at the end of June, the house was actually visitor-free for a whole week! ;)
