From the Bay Area to the Desert

We spent last Sunday, our last day in Berkeley exploring Telegraph Avenue and doing some shopping. Kevin thinks he's discovered one of the best burgers in the world! And we found this great place that had really yummy and cheap yogurt!

One of the thing we'll really miss about Berkeley:
the furry little creatures scurrying around all over the campus!

Early the next morning, we checked out and headed to the San Francisco International Airport to catch our flight to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We had about 3 hours at the Albuquerque airport, which Kevin used to check his e-mails, while Agnes went and checked out some souvenir shops. Kevin even got enlisted to help out as a greeter (temporarily) for all the other Summer School participants arriving on other flights!

The bus arrived at about 7pm as scheduled, and it was a 1 hour journey to Socorro, where we will be staying for the next week or so. It's right in the middle of the desert, which we saw plenty of during the bus ride.

It was dark by the time we arrived and checked into the hotel. But it was still really warm! We were invited to join a very friendly group of Italian and French students for dinner, which we enjoyed thoroughly.
