Maximising Our Weekends

As Kevin spends his weekdays working on this project, (and continues his work in the evenings till late at night as well), we knew we had to fully maximize our weekends. So on our second Sunday here (which is actually just a day after we came back from Hat Creek), we decided to skip church (again!) and head to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf, apparently one of those over-hyped, touristy places in San Francisco.

But well, this was probably the best way to get a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, as well as Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf all in a day for free! That's not including travel expenses of course. And Kevin even managed to get a photo taken with his favourite cartoon character!

On Monday (a public holiday), we went to one of the places we had planned to visit before we arrived. We'd heard and seen so much of this place on Discovery Channel that we decided we had to see the real thing! We're referring to the California Academy of Sciences. Indeed, it's an aquarium, planetarium and natural history museum all under one LIVING roof!

the walk in the Golden Gate Park in search for the building...

the LIVING roof!

the warm and humid rainforest... Haha...
