Not Like Any of Those Weekends

The last weekend of October. Today Jacynth turned ONE! So, yesterday, while Agnes was busy baking the birthday cake, Kevin went grocery shopping with Jacynth and they also went for a run (literally) at a nearby park.

Ta-da! Thank you Aunty Irene for teaching Agnes how to bake this!

It was Blessing of the Animals at church and Jacynth had a swell time just running around a bigger space due to the different setup.

Then it was time to cut the cake!

More running around the church compound...

She managed to give herself some birthday presents - bumping into the piano, chair and everywhere! Check out the injuries/scars on her face... but we guess it's all part of growing up... :)

So, the blessed parents celebrated nevertheless and Jacynth had her first taste of marron!

Back home, she had her nap after which she opened her birthday presents...

Finally, we went to the park and took a million photographs just to get a few nice shots! Oh, we are so tired from chasing her all around.. and are still overwhelmed that our little baby is now one...

More of Those Weekends

Second weekend of October. Excellent pasta and egg florentine to ensure that we have the energy to run after Jacynth.

Jacynth loves watching other children play.

But her ultimate joy is to run away from us with a very cheeky look!

We were at Point Walter - a riverside park bursting with activities. A lot of people are out for a barbeque picnic, swimming and fishing on a sunny Sunday.

Trying to make some snacks out of these dry leaves...

and a pine cone that crumbled in her deadly grasp...

Third weekend of October. We went to Kings Park on the Saturday. We were just relaxing on the grass and having some snacks before the work out began!

Running...

Push ups with one hand...

 Running on the spot...

... and stretching!

The truth is, Jacynth kept trying to run away from us and it was quite a task running after her and playing catch-up.

More snacks to replenish her energy...

...while enjoying the criss-crossing wisps of cloud.

Giving the steep uphill slope a go...

Almost there...

Now we can all enjoy the view!!

Then it was time for us to replenish OUR energy at Byrneleighs!

That's a lot of chips!

Great crispy pork belly and spicy prawns, but just-ok duck confit with bacon and potatoes

Trying to make a quick getaway...

On Sunday, it was church picnic day at the South Perth foreshore...

Beautiful morning at Cottesloe

Agnes and Jacynth were at Cottesloe Beach on a beautiful day a few weeks ago with the Mothers' Group. Jacynth stayed seated for a while, digging in for her sultanas...

but not long later got up and started going...

and would not stop going...

Jacynth and a few of her friends went down to the sandy beach to have some sandy fun. We really love how great Karen looked here... ;)

Just a moment before she tasted the salty sand!

Then, it was time to get the feet wet a little...

before more sand play!

"So much sand!

O dear God, sand!

I can pick some up

.. and shake them off

... and even do a dance!"

Mums chatting... and Jacynth examining the seaweed...

Phew.. it was no easy task trying to get some nice shots!

Fell asleep while biting her teether? The beach sure has a way to make her sleepy...

So, while Monica, Lydia and Agnes ordered their lunch, little Millie took care of sleeping Jacynth and Jacob. ;)

Quiet and still after she woke... hmmm...?
