A Baby's Guide to Great Family Vacations (Part 4) - by Koay Jacynth

VISITING ANOTHER COUNTRY

Tip 31: Always check road-signs to make sure you're heading in the right direction.

Tip 32: The road may appear to go on forever, but don't give up!

Tip 33: Look out for signs indicating that you are crossing the border...

Tip 34: Check out the local wildlife...

Tip 35: Always keep an eye out for your parents... you don't want to get lost in a foreign land!

Tip 36: Meet the leaders of the country to form diplomatic ties, in this case, Prince Leonard. Listen to him talk about the history of  how the Hutt River Province seceded from Australia to form a new nation.

Tip 37: Pay a visit to the government offices for official matters...

Tip 38: Oh, send a postcard or two to family members at home so that they can be jealous of you. If you don't know how to read and write yet (like me), ask your mom to do it for you!

Tip 39: Don't forget to get your passports stamped! And make sure its stamped twice (one for entry and another for exit). Don't bother with fake passports. Prince Leonard uses a special UV device to authenticate them).

Tip 40: Sneak up onto the royal throne when the Prince and Princess are not looking!

Tip 41: Feel the foreign soil! Smell the unfamiliar air!

Tip 42: Sleep on the way home!

NOTE ON PLAYGROUNDS

Tip 43: Playgrounds come in all shapes and sizes, and each one is unique. Therefore, when on vacation, make it a point to always visit the local playgrounds. You never know what surprises lie in store! Sometimes, they may even have lots of sand (I, of course had a taste of it and mom was quite impressed that I did not do it any sooner than when we were about to leave!)!

You may also find weird contraptions...

unique colours...

 even boats!

If you're not the adventurous type, there's always the familiar swing wherever you go!

BARBECUES

Barbecues are a great way to end the day. What could be better than chilling out with some cool drinks, sausages, burgers etc. after a long, tiring day, while someone else does all the cooking for you? ;)
